Anne Fabbri honored

Last night there was a presentation of the first Sage Project Recognition Award honoring Anne Fabbri as someone who has made a significant contribution to the arts. It was very well attended by friends and colleagues alike.

Anne was of the director of the Noyes Museum and the Paley Design Center at Philadelphia University. She was an art critic at the Daily News and wrote a column for Art Matters called The Contrarian. She curated numerous shows including many for Art in City Hall. Ms. Fabbri continues to write reviews for Art in America and the Broad Street Review and is active as a juror. Many industries make a point of celebrating the people who make contributions like the Academy Awards, the Emmys, and locally the Benny Awards. But it is all too rare an occurrence in the visual arts here in Philadelphia. We hope that will change and that the idea will catch on.
